The highlight of our trip was to be a visit to the remote Hubbard glacier. Captain PJ was to put the ship close to the terminal mass of the glacier, and calving of the ice could be expected. On this day, fog socked-in the glacier and the Captain could not safely approach the ice. Too bad. But as he slowly and patiently circled the ship at the mouth of the bay, some monumental Alaska scenes were revealed. Watching the fog on TV.
